Job Description

York is seeking a motivated, energetic and experienced Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead scaling of production processes, drive process improvements in the assembly, test and integration of space vehicles and guide junior engineers. This is a highly collaborative role supporting production operations in planning and creation of production capacity for growth. This role will drive production efficiency and introduction of appropriate technologies to drive shop productivity, safety and quality. Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and update production capacity plans to support current and future customer orders. This includes future state layouts, manpower and workflow planning.
  • Guide facility and work cell layouts to improve build quality, hardware and personnel safety and production efficiency.
  • Regularly review production sequence for improvement opportunities and provide feedback to Production Engineering.
  • Work with the continuous improvement team, production planning, quality and production to streamline workflow.
  • Lead creation and maintenance of current and future value stream maps.
  • Organize and lead kaizen activity to eliminate waste, reduce defects and cost, improve safety and build time, improve technician productivity.
  • Collaborate with production planning and Materials teams to improve point of use availability and kitting of tools and materials.
  • Improve implementation of visual management tools on the shop floor.
  • Implement digital and automation technologies to improve productivity, safety and mistake proofing.
  • Develop and lead project plans for the execution of digital and automation improvements.
  • Support introduction of new products by collaborating with production and engineering teams.
  • Other Duties as Assigned


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience within a complex, controlled product manufacturing industry such as aerospace, automotive or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience with advanced automation and visual error proofing equipment.
  • Lean certification with at least 5 years of experience improving manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing processes a plus.
  • Experience in BOM management, change control and ERP systems a plus.
  • Competent user of common computer programs (e.g., MS Office Suite, SharePoint, power BI, Visio, and some modeling software).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in a production environment.
  • Willingness to work full-time in our Greenwood Village, CO office; this position does not support remote or hybrid work.
