Overview

Develop clear, useful communications that help SLTT audiences understand cybersecurity and physical security risks and take practical action. You will support CISA-branded outreach, reusable training materials, and campaigns that share successful resilience practices.
Responsibilities

  • Write and edit fact sheets, articles, presentations, invitations, social media content, and other outreach materials for SLTT audiences.
  • Develop reusable toolkit templates, graphics, and short video content that partners can adapt to support awareness and training.
  • Translate research findings and technical information into accurate, accessible language for nontechnical audiences.
  • Support event communications and Resilience Challenge storytelling, coordinating stakeholder clearance and Government review before release.
  • Prepare accessible electronic content and coordinate Section 508 testing, corrections, and documentation.

Qualifications

Years of experience: Preferred: 3-5 years of relevant communications, public relations, content development, or public outreach experience. Experience explaining technical topics to public-sector audiences is preferred.

Education: Preferred: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field.

Certifications: No blanket professional certification requirement applies to this role. If assigned to perform covered web accessibility testing, DHS Trusted Tester certification for version 5.0 or a successor version is required. This testing requirement excludes Microsoft Office and PDF documents and non-fillable forms, which use separate document test methods.

Skills: Strong writing, editing, visual storytelling, and stakeholder coordination skills; ability to create accessible documents and presentations and support multimedia content.

Work generally occurs Monday through Friday within 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Eastern Time, with occasional work outside normal hours to meet mission needs.
