Job Description
Responsibilities
PeopleTec is currently seeking a Cyber Architect to support our Huntsville, AL location.
The Cyber Architect - Cyber & Enterprise Systems serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, and evolution of complex cyber, enterprise, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), and mission-support environments. The position supports the Chief Architect and program leadership in establishing technical direction, developing system architectures, resolving complex integration challenges, and ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and aligned with customer mission requirements.
The Cyber Architect provides technical leadership across cybersecurity, enterprise networking, infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, cyber range environments, HWIL systems, and mission-system integration. The position requires an individual capable of operating across both architecture and implementation-translating mission requirements into executable technical solutions while maintaining sufficient engineering depth to understand network protocols, system interfaces, cybersecurity controls, infrastructure technologies, and operational constraints.
A primary focus of the position is the development and integration of cyber and mission-representative environments. This includes supporting cyber ranges, HWIL laboratories, enterprise architectures, geographically distributed environments, and systems requiring the integration of cyber capabilities with enterprise and mission technologies. The Cyber Architect will establish architecture patterns and technical approaches that enable these environments to scale, interoperate, and evolve as mission requirements change.
The position will also provide technical leadership for enterprise and cybersecurity architecture, including network segmentation, hybrid cloud integration, identity and access management, Zero Trust principles, vulnerability management, monitoring, cyber resiliency, and secure integration of legacy and modern IP-based systems. The Deputy Chief Engineer will ensure cybersecurity is incorporated as an engineering discipline throughout the system lifecycle rather than treated solely as a compliance activity.
Working across engineering teams, program leadership, customers, and industry partners, the Cyber Architect will lead and support architecture reviews, engineering trade studies, system integration, technical assessments, and resolution of complex multidisciplinary engineering challenges. The position will also mentor engineers and technical leads and help establish repeatable engineering practices, reference architectures, and technical standards across PeopleTec programs.
