Software-Systems Analyst
Summary
The Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) Government Systems Integration Laboratory (G-SIL) supports the acquisition, integration, test, and evaluation of technologies developed for the Portfolio Acquisition Executive Fires (PAE Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) and Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS).
The G-SIL is a government-owned Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) integration and test facility staffed by Army civilians and contractor personnel from multiple organizations. The Software/System Analyst will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of hardware, software, and operational test professionals to plan, execute, analyze, and report on real-time test events and experiments.
The position will support testing and analysis of evolving IBCS Major End Items (MEIs), adapted weapons and sensors, interfaces within the Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) system of systems, and interfaces with other Army and Joint systems across live and virtual test environments.
The successful candidate will apply software analysis, simulation, systems integration, and test-analysis expertise to evaluate system performance, identify defects and limitations, assess mission impacts, and communicate findings to government leadership and technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Army Air and Missile Defense systems, operational concepts, and doctrine is highly preferred. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills are required .

The salary range for this role is:
$80,500 - $123,000

Position Responsibilities
- Evaluate the functional capabilities of the Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) family of systems against Agile features, user stories, requirements, and Interface Control Documentation (ICDs).
- Conduct operational readiness and system-performance assessments of IBCS and integrated Army radars, weapons, and uplinkers , including LTAMDS, IFPC, RIG-360, Sentinel A4, ALPS, and other integrated systems.
- Develop and execute test cases and provide technical direction for the preparation of test stimuli required to evaluate system capabilities and mission scenarios.
- Perform verification and validation of simulation tools used for test-stimulus preparation, real-time instrumentation, post-processing of data logs, and analysis. Identify and recommend new tools and methodologies as testing requirements evolve.
- Analyze and support the integration of IBCS Foreign Military Sales (FMS) software builds with foreign sensors and weapons, identifying integration issues, system limitations, and potential mission impacts.
- Independently analyze test data and results; review analysis performed by other team members; reconcile discrepancies; and develop technically sound conclusions and recommendations.
- Conduct operational test and fielding analyses for deployed IBCS Army units and assess system performance against operational requirements.
- Document software and system defects, limitations, and anomalies in JIRA and communicate significant issues to appropriate technical working groups.
- Develop technical analysis findings, presentations, and briefings for government leadership and the PAE Fires Joint Data Analysis community.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, systems engineering, and operational test personnel to resolve technical issues and support successful execution of integrated test events.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant military experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software analysis, simulation, systems integration, test, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience analyzing software or system test results.
- Ability to communicate technical findings and mission risks to senior leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred
- Experience with IBCS, Patriot, THAAD, Sentinel, Aegis, LTAMDS, IFPC, or related Air and Missile Defense systems.
- Operational experience with Patriot or other Army Air Defense systems.
- Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting/analysis tools.
- Experience with tactical operations, Air Battle Management, Air Defense Tactics, or Joint Kill Chain procedures.
- Patriot Master Gunner/Top Gun certification.
- Table VIII certification.
- Battalion or Brigade Standardization Officer experience.
- Experience developing defense plans and presenting senior-level Courses of Action (COAs).
