Job Description

Safety Officer required for 3 month contract in Guam - $4,000 per month

Location: Guam (Project-Based)

Project: Office Relocation Program (Guam to Hawaii)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term / Contract Assignment

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to support a major office relocation project involving the movement of facilities, equipment, and operational assets from Guam to Hawaii. This hands-on role will ensure that all relocation, logistics, lifting, transportation, de-installation, and installation activities are conducted safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be a local safety professional with experience managing operational risks within logistics, transportation, construction, facilities, or similar project environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day health and safety oversight across relocation activities.
Conduct risk assessments and develop safe systems of work for project operations.
Monitor lifting, loading, unloading, transportation, and movement activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
Support de-installation, packing, transportation, and installation teams throughout project delivery.
Ensure compliance with all applicable local regulations, site requirements, and client safety standards.
Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, inspections, and audits.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with project management, logistics personnel, carriers, and site stakeholders to ensure safe execution of project activities.
Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance.
Maintain project safety records, reports, and documentation.

Essential Requirements

Proven experience as a Safety Officer, HSE Officer, or equivalent role.
Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
Experience supporting logistics, relocation, transportation, construction, facilities, or infrastructure projects.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation measures.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.

Desirable

Experience working on military, government, defence, or secure-site projects.
Knowledge of cargo handling, shipping operations, warehousing, or port/wharf activities.
Experience coordinating safety requirements for lifting operations and equipment movement.
Relevant safety qualifications or certifications.

What We're Looking For

This is not a desk-based compliance role. We need a practical, proactive safety professional who can work closely with the project team, identify risks before they become issues, and help deliver a safe and successful relocation project from start to finish.

If you have operational safety experience and enjoy being part of a team that gets things done, we'd like to hear from you.
