CIWS Reliability Engineer
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a CIWS Reliability Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) reliability, maintainability, availability, and maintenance planning efforts.
- The CIWS Reliability Engineer will support maintenance concepts, reliability data analysis, CASREP reporting, and depot-level maintenance and refurbishment efforts.
- This position will work closely with program office, engineering, maintenance, and Fleet stakeholders to support CIWS readiness and lifecycle sustainment.
- This role is in Arlington, VA.
Job Description:
- Apply the theories and principles of science, engineering, and mathematics to research, analyze, and develop economical solutions to technical problems.
- Provide technical assistance in the review and development of maintenance concepts, maintenance plans, Maintenance Index Pages (MIPs), and Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs).
- Prepare for and participate in reviews of Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) data, metrics, trends, and briefings.
- Analyze reliability and maintenance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve system readiness and availability.
- Develop, maintain, and update Casualty Report (CASREP) data and associated tracking information.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior PEO leadership and Fleet representatives.
- Assist with the development and evaluation of depot maintenance requirements.
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of CIWS recertification and refurbishment efforts.
- Coordinate with program office personnel, Fleet representatives, engineering organizations, maintenance activities, and other stakeholders to support CIWS sustainment requirements.
- Provide technical recommendations related to system reliability, maintainability, availability, maintenance planning, and lifecycle support.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience applying engineering, scientific, and mathematical principles to technical problems.
- Must have experience supporting engineering, maintenance, reliability, or sustainment activities for complex systems or equipment.
- Experience reviewing or developing maintenance concepts, maintenance plans, MIPs, and MRCs is preferred.
- Experience with Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analysis, metrics, or reporting is preferred.
- Experience working with CASREP data or Navy maintenance and readiness reporting is highly desired.
- Experience supporting depot maintenance, equipment recertification, refurbishment, or lifecycle sustainment efforts is preferred.
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy weapon systems, CIWS, or similar shipboard combat systems is highly desired.
- Must possess strong analytical, technical writing, communication, and briefing skills.
- Must be able to effectively communicate technical information to engineering, program management, senior leadership, and Fleet stakeholders.

- Must have an Active Secret Clearance the ability to maintain it.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be required in support of program meetings, technical reviews, Fleet activities, and other program requirements.
- Travel is expected to be less than 10%.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
