We have an outstanding Contract position for a Painter to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

Pay Rate: $24.24 - $40.24

**US Citizenship is required.**

 **Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.**

Seeking a Painter to work as a member of a multi-craft construction team, supporting other trades for interior and exterior renewal projects. Painters prepare and paint a variety of interior and exterior architectural surfaces, machinery and equipment. They prepare and apply various types of single and multi-component coatings.

Job Responsibilities:  

• Survey existing coating conditions and recommend methods and techniques to restore to the desired condition.
• Prepare work site and surfaces for painting, consistent with the materials to be used and in conformance with accepted industry standards and specifications.
• Select, mix, and apply various interior and exterior coatings.
• Clean up after each job completion, maintain a safe and orderly work area, and perform minor painting equipment maintenance as needed.
• You will operate vehicles and industrial equipment to perform these duties.

Basic Hiring Criteria:

• 5 or more years painting experience in a commercial/industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of the various interior and exterior coating systems (latex and epoxy) used in a commercial/industrial facility.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements related to personal safety and environmental protection.
• Ability to set up and operate tools and equipment associated with the painting trade.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Capable user of Personal Computers.
• Requires valid state-of-residence driver's license in good standing.
• Able to obtain Secret-level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

Desired Qualifications:

• Are a member in the Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) or National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
• Possess OSHA or EPA training or certification.
