Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Systems Administrator Sr on a 10 year contract providing User Facing and Data Center Services supporting an Intelligence Community customer. All the personnel on the team will work together to support innovative design, engineering, procurement, implementation, operations, sustainment and disposal of user facing and data center information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains, at multiple locations worldwide, to support the IC mission.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the NGA College liaison for events involving UDS IT equipment or requiring UDS technical support.
  • Facilitates meetings and regularly engage with customers and senior leadership to:
    • Address IT-related questions and concerns.
    • Coordinate emerging customer requirements, classes, and events.
    • Provide situational awareness regarding upcoming system maintenance and technology refresh efforts affecting NGA College classrooms and spaces.
  • Independently develops technical solutions involving software, hardware, system configurations, and architecture.
  • Interprets and resolves moderately complex system-related matters.
  • Troubleshoots highly complex hardware and software issues.
  • Performs advanced software installations and upgrades involving operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimal performance.
  • Guides less-experienced personnel on workstation and server data integrity and the implementation of standard hardware and software solutions.
  • Leads complex data and media recovery efforts, including scheduled system backups and database archive operations.
  • Evaluates existing systems and develops long-term improvement strategies.
  • Configures and maintains networked computer systems, including hardware, operating systems, software, and applications.
  • Conducts advanced hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Maintains inventory records for UDS-deployed software and end-user devices.
  • Uses Cisco TMS to facilitate VTC calls.
  • Communicates effectively with technical employees, nontechnical colleagues, customers, and senior leaders.
  • Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software, including large-group training when necessary.
  • Coachs and reviews the work of less-experienced professionals.
  • Serves as a team or task leader without direct personnel-management responsibilities.
  • Establishes operational plans and manage large projects with limited managerial oversight.
  • Provides after-hours support and weekend coverage for missions, programs, and special projects when required.

This position is 100% onsite in Springfield, VA.

Qualifications

Clearance Required: TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of years of experience and education.
  • 8+ years of experience.

Required Certifications:
  • Security+ or CASP+.
  • ITIL v4 Foundations.

Required Skills:

Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Thin-client environments using Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technology.
  • Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
  • Citrix, Systems Management Server (SMS), and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • End-user hardware, including:
    • Thin clients and monitors.
    • Keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) equipment.
    • Printers, plotters, and print-server configurations.
    • VoIP phones.
  • Desktop image management.
  • Home-directory and user-profile support.
  • Email support services.
  • Software support services.
  • Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to consistently document completed work.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Effective time-management skills and the flexibility to meet changing job requirements.
  • Ability to move and lift computers, printers, monitors, and other hardware.
  • Team-oriented approach with a willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
