Junior Field Services Technician
Omitron is seeking a Junior Field Services Technician to support the SPARTAN effort in Colorado Springs, CO. This position supports the deployment, installation, configuration, integration, and sustainment of SPARTAN network infrastructure at Government and mission-partner locations.
The Junior Field Services Technician is a hands-on technical position responsible for assisting with the installation and configuration of network equipment, cabling, rack-mounted systems, and supporting infrastructure. The technician will work under the direction of SPARTAN Install Team Leads and senior engineering personnel to ensure equipment is properly installed, configured, tested, documented, and prepared for operational use.
This position requires up to 50% travel to Government and remote locations and provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience supporting enterprise networking and mission-critical DoD infrastructure.

Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, technical expertise, certifications, security clearance, geographic location, internal equity, market conditions, contract requirements, and other factors.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, patch panels, and cabling.
- Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure readiness.
- Test and verify network connectivity and equipment functionality post-installation.
- Assist with development and maintenance of as-built documentation, rack elevations, cable documentation, equipment inventories, installation checklists, and test results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or connectivity issues on-site.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and site details.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address requirements and provide updates.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company standards at all times.
- Travel up to 50%
Minimum Requirements:
- US Citizenship required
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance and be eligible for a Top-Secret SCI Clearance
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with common hand tools and basic network installation equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, installation procedures, and checklists.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a technical installation team.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform physical installation activities, including lifting and installing network equipment, working around equipment racks, and handling network cabling.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: One or more of the following: Security +, CCST, JNCIA, CCNA or better
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or related major
- Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience
- Previous experience installing or supporting routers, switches, firewalls, servers, or other enterprise network equipment.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements and STIGs.
