Serco is seeking a Joint Force Learning and Adaptation Analyst to support the Joint Staff J-7 Deputy Directorate for Joint Training and Exercises (DDJTE) and the Joint Force Development Directorate (J-7) in support of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS). This position advances Joint Force learning, lessons learned, and operational adaptation across the Joint Force. The Analyst will research and assess data from military operations, exercises, and other Joint Force activities to identify trends, root causes, capability gaps, and best practices. The Analyst will transform complex information into evidence-based findings, lessons learned, and actionable recommendations that improve Joint Force readiness and effectiveness. The ideal candidate can analyze complex operational issues, determine the "why" and "so what," and clearly communicate insights that inform operational and strategic decision-making.
This position is fully on-site in Suffolk, VA.

In this role, you will:
- Conduct Advanced Analysis and Research: Analyze complex military operations, exercises, datasets, strategic documents, and operating environments to identify trends, root causes, capability gaps, critical relationships, and best practices.
- Develop Joint Learning Products: Translate analysis into concise, executive level Operational Learning Notes (OLNs), Joint Learning Notes (JLNs), Flash Reports, assessments, briefings, Joint Operations Insights and Best Practices for senior leaders.
- Assess Joint Force Effectiveness: Evaluate Joint Force operations, concepts, doctrine, and capabilities using an understanding of U.S., Allied, partner, and adversary forces to identify lessons and opportunities for operational adaptation.
- Support Deployable Analytic Teams (DATs): Deploy worldwide in support of exercises and real world operations to conduct observations, interviews, data collection, analysis, and reporting for the Joint Lessons Assessment Center (JLAC).
- Apply Advanced Analytical Tools: Leverage artificial intelligence (AI), large language models, knowledge management tools, and the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) to research, synthesize, manage, and extract actionable insights from large datasets.
- Advance Joint Force Learning and Adaptation: Integrate operational observations, lessons learned, and cross-functional analysis to support Joint Warfighting Concept implementation, joint doctrine, functional-area assessments, and continuous Joint Force improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5 years of experience in one of the related fields (Plans and Assessment, Sustainment, Intelligence, Command and Control, Current Operations, Operational Law and Authorities, Inter-organizational/Interagency Cooperation, Fires and Targeting, Operations in the Information Environment, Cyberspace Operations, Space Operations, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, and/or Force Protection).
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Active DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following functional areas: Plans and Assessment, Sustainment, Intelligence, Command and Control, Current Operations, Operational Law and Authorities, Inter-organizational/Interagency Cooperation, Fires and Targeting, Operations in the Information Environment, Cyberspace Operations, Space Operations, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, and/or Force Protection.
- Exceptional analytical writing and communication skills with experience producing executive summaries, analytical papers, assessments, lessons learned, insights, best practices, and senior-leader briefings.
- Ability to travel worldwide, to include areas considered hazardous duty (up to 25% of the time).
- Ability to obtain a US passport.
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field.
- Experience supporting the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Joint Task Forces, Services, Joint Force Development, or Joint Lessons Learned programs.
- Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I/II, Command and General Staff College, Senior Service College, or equivalent joint/operational education.
- Knowledge of advanced warfighting concepts with experience developing or assessing operational plans, orders, and joint military operations.
- Experience collecting and synthesizing observations, after-action reports, assessments, and operational data to identify trends, capability gaps, root causes, lessons, and best practices.
- Experience analyzing adversary doctrine, capabilities, force structure, campaign plans, and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and translating complex findings into executive-level reports, briefings, seminars, and actionable recommendations for senior military and civilian leaders.
