Tygart is seeking a talented .NET Developer to support a National Institutes of Health (NIH) organization by designing, developing, and maintaining modern web applications. The ideal candidate is a collaborative software engineer with a strong foundation in Microsoft technologies, front-end development, and the ability to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in an Agile environment.
This position requires the selected candidate to successfully complete a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) background investigation.
In this role, you will work across the full application stack, contributing to new application development, modernization of existing systems, application enhancements, and ongoing maintenance and support.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using the Microsoft .NET platform.
Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
Develop and maintain applications using ASP.NET Core, MVC, and Razor Pages.
Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, quality assurance engineers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Design, develop, and consume RESTful APIs while integrating with internal and external systems.
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and secure code following industry best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on application performance, security, maintainability, and code quality.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience using the Microsoft .NET technology stack.
Strong experience developing applications with C# and ASP.NET Core.
Hands-on experience building modern web applications using React.
Experience developing and maintaining applications using Razor Pages.
Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Experience using Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core.
Proficiency with Git and modern source control practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing applications hosted in Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience implementing automated testing frameworks and unit testing.
Knowledge of secure software development practices and application performance optimization.
Experience modernizing or migrating legacy .NET applications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
