Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support the planning, development, maintenance, analysis, and reporting of complex construction project schedules. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing schedules for large-scale construction projects, including projects with estimated construction costs exceeding $45 million.

This position will work closely with project management, engineering, construction, and other stakeholders to develop accurate schedules, identify potential delays and risks, evaluate project performance, and provide schedule-related reporting to support informed project decisions.





Key Responsibilities

Create, develop, maintain, update, and analyze detailed project schedules for large-scale construction projects.
Develop and maintain baseline schedules, current schedules, and schedule updates in accordance with project requirements.
Analyze project schedules to identify critical path activities, schedule risks, delays, trends, and potential impacts to project completion.
Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify variances in planned versus actual performance.
Perform schedule analysis and provide recommendations for mitigating delays and improving project performance.
Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for logic, sequencing, durations, resource loading, and overall schedule quality.
Evaluate schedule changes, time impacts, recovery schedules, and potential extensions of time.
Prepare schedule status reports, executive-level summaries, dashboards, and other schedule-related deliverables.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to obtain schedule updates and validate progress.
Support project teams in developing recovery strategies and corrective action plans when schedule performance falls behind established milestones.
Conduct critical path, float, delay, and schedule impact analyses as required.
Track key project milestones, deliverables, activities, and completion dates.
Identify potential schedule conflicts and proactively communicate risks and recommended solutions to project leadership.
Ensure schedules are maintained in accordance with applicable project controls procedures, standards, and contractual requirements.
Support project planning, forecasting, and decision-making through accurate schedule data and analysis.
Maintain accurate and well-documented schedule records and supporting documentation.


Required Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience in construction scheduling, project scheduling, schedule analysis, or related project controls functions.
At least 5 years of experience supporting projects of similar size and complexity, including construction projects exceeding $45 million in estimated construction costs.


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following or a related field:

Engineering
Architecture
Construction Management
Business Management


Must possess one or more of the following professional certifications:
Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP)
PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
Certified Scheduling Technician (CST)


Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting federal, government, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or other complex construction projects.
Experience with critical path method (CPM) scheduling and schedule analysis.
Experience reviewing contractor and subcontractor schedules.
Experience with schedule delay analysis, time impact analysis, and recovery scheduling.
Strong knowledge of project controls, construction sequencing, and schedule management principles.
Experience using scheduling and project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex schedule data and communicate findings to technical and executive-level stakeholders.


Work Locations: Positions may be available at military installations throughout the National Capital Region, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Potential locations include NSA Washington, NSA Bethesda, NSA Annapolis, NSF Indian Head, NSF Dahlgren, NAS Patuxent River, Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, NSF Thurmont, and MCB Quantico. Specific location will vary based on project needs.
