Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Site Inspection Coordinator to support construction projects through on-site inspection, contractor coordination, and project oversight. The individual will be responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, applicable codes, workmanship standards, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction, inspection, or skilled trade experience and be comfortable working in an active construction environment while coordinating with contractors, project teams, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Monitor workmanship, materials, installation practices, and overall construction quality.
Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, and areas of non-compliance and communicate findings to appropriate project personnel.
Coordinate contractor access and site logistics to support efficient project execution.
Coordinate permits, inspections, utility outages, shutdowns, and other site requirements as needed.
Monitor contractor activities and progress to ensure work is performed in accordance with approved plans and schedules.
Maintain accurate inspection records, field reports, photographs, and project documentation.
Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders regarding site conditions and construction activities.
Assist with identifying potential schedule, quality, safety, and coordination issues.
Support project teams with field observations and documentation throughout the construction process.
Promote a safe working environment and ensure construction activities follow applicable safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; or
Completion of an accredited trade school program; or
Equivalent industry certification or technical training.
Education requirements may be waived for candidates with:
A minimum of 10 years of relevant construction inspection experience, or
A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related skilled trade or construction field.
Required Certification
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
Preferred Experience
Experience performing construction inspections or serving in a field/site coordination role.
Experience interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and safety requirements.
Experience coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction deficiencies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in an active construction site environment.
Federal, government, commercial, industrial, or large-scale construction experience is a plus.
Work Locations: Positions may be available at military installations throughout the National Capital Region, including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Potential locations include NSA Washington, NSA Bethesda, NSA Annapolis, NSF Indian Head, NSF Dahlgren, NAS Patuxent River, Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, NSF Thurmont, and MCB Quantico. Specific location will vary based on project needs.
