Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support a long-term DOD program focused on Navy enterprise IT infrastructure, network operations, and cybersecurity support. This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA; Jacksonville, FL; San Diego, CA; or Honolulu, HI. The Infrastructure Engineer will support enterprise infrastructure across Windows/MECM, NetApp storage, and Cisco data center networking. This role will focus on patch management, system and infrastructure upgrades, automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational reliability while supporting production releases and DoD security and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer include:
- Manage enterprise Windows patching, software distribution, and compliance reporting using MECM/SCCM
- Administer and maintain NetApp ONTAP storage, including firmware, disk, and system upgrades using Active IQ Unified Manager and/or OnCommand Insight
- Perform software maintenance and image upgrades on Cisco NX-OS data center switches
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise infrastructure to maintain system reliability and performance
- Develop and maintain PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible scripts to automate patching, health checks, reporting, and other infrastructure tasks
- Support infrastructure migrations, production releases, and scheduled maintenance windows, including occasional off-hours work
- Develop and execute testing to validate system reliability, resilience, and performance
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations, baselines, and change records
- Support RMF, DISA STIG, vulnerability management, and enterprise change management requirements
- Collaborate with systems, network, cybersecurity, development, and automation teams in a distributed enterprise environment
Qualifications of the Infrastructure Engineer include:
- 4+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, or related IT environments
- Active Secret clearance
- Active IAT Level II certification
- Hands-on experience with MECM/SCCM and enterprise patch management
- Experience administering NetApp ONTAP storage environments
- Experience with Cisco NX-OS or Cisco data center infrastructure
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and command-line tools
- Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or Ansible
- Working knowledge of RMF, DISA STIGs, vulnerability management, and IT change management
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications of the Infrastructure Engineer
- Experience with Ansible, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps, or automated infrastructure testing
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps
- ITILv4, Agile/SAFe, CCNA, NetApp, or Microsoft certifications
- Experience supporting enterprise environments with strict SLA, security, and compliance requirements
Compensation for the Infrastructure Engineer includes:
- Salary: $95,000-100,000 depending on experience
