Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Windows Platform Engineer to support a long-term DOD program focused on Navy enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform operations. This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA; San Diego, CA; or Honolulu, HI. The Windows Platform Engineer will support enterprise Windows Server environments with a focus on system administration, patching, vulnerability remediation, STIG compliance, troubleshooting, and operational reliability across mission-critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Windows Platform Engineer include:
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments
- Perform Windows Server patching, IAVA vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities
- Build and configure Windows Server systems throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, including installation, upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning
- Perform DISA STIG remediation and maintain Windows platforms in accordance with DoD security and compliance requirements
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve operating system, infrastructure, patching, and application-related issues
- Support mission-critical enterprise applications, infrastructure, and services
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, security, performance, and operational efficiency
- Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, maintenance windows, and technical initiatives
- Collaborate with systems, network, cybersecurity, application, vendor, and customer teams in a large-scale enterprise environment
- Maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures
Qualifications of the Windows Platform Engineer include:
- 2+ years of experience supporting Windows Server or enterprise IT environments
- Active Secret clearance
- Current Security+ certification
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows Server patching and vulnerability remediation
- Experience supporting enterprise Windows environments
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications of the Windows Platform Engineer
- Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and/or 2022
- Experience with DISA STIGs, IAVA, RMF, or DoD cybersecurity compliance
- Experience with PowerShell or Windows automation
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM/MECM, WSUS, or other Windows management tools
- Experience supporting large-scale DoD or enterprise infrastructure environments
- Microsoft Windows Server or related infrastructure certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Compensation for the Windows Platform Engineer includes:
- Salary: $95,000-100,000 depending on experience
