Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support Component Integration for a satellite communications (SATCOM) system.

As a Systems Engineer Stf, you will:

• Act as the Product Owner for the Component Systems Engineering team

• Perform component integration activities throughout the program lifecycle, identifying risks and defining mitigation strategies

• Guide component integration efforts through the program lifecycle

• Partner with the SEIT and Cyber organizations to design and deliver end to end integrated solutions.

• Define and communicate a clear product vision; maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with program objectives.

• Write, refine, and prioritize user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical tasks; ensure backlog items are ready for sprint planning.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience

• Experience as a Technical Lead, Scrum Product Owner or similar

• Component/Systems Integration and Engineering process knowledge and experiences

• Technical experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines

• Familiarity with Agile processes and tools

• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Desired Skills

• Full lifecycle component/systems integration and engineering experience on Space programs

• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Rally.

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification

• Customer intimacy and proactive inter-personal skills across all levels of stakeholders, with the ability to drive consensus on best ideas, processes, and products

• Experience designing, testing or verifying CI/CD deployments

• Experience or understanding of zero trust methodologies

• Experience or understanding of operational ground system

• Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to an audience with varied technical backgrounds

• Demonstrated ability to work in self-directed manner, work independently, and leverage best

• Experience with Cameo or MBSE

• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
