Job Description
This position involves working on the conceptual design, development, testing, and debugging of embedded software systems for airborne systems. The role requires strong collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and customers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
Conceptual design across the full stack of software for airborne systems
Embedded software architectural design
Code implementation and unit testing
Cohesive integration of software modules within subsystems and networks
Use of DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
Development of software tools, harnesses, and infrastructure
Leading and contributing to the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of embedded software systems
Direct communication with customers, end users, and internal stakeholders
Applying software engineering principles, standards, and best practices throughout the SDLC
Recommend and implement new technologies, tools, and standards
Leading and mentoring team members
Identifying improved development workflows and engineering practices
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline
4-12+ years of relevant technical experience
2-5+ years of experience with real-time embedded system
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development
Experience with real-time operating system (RTOS)
Proficiency with embedded processors and microcontrollers
Experience with embedded debugging tools
Experience with modern software development practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with high-speed guided weapons systems or flight controls systems
Experience developing large-scale embedded systems
Familiarity with containerization technologies
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
