Job Description
Recro is seeking a System / Platform / Data Engineer to support a program supporting the U.S. Air Force. This position will support the engineering, sustainment, optimization, and modernization of a large-scale distributed data environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within the Apache/Hadoop ecosystem , with particular emphasis on Apache Accumulo and supporting distributed data technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Engineer, configure, maintain, and optimize distributed data platforms supporting mission-critical applications.
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Apache Accumulo clusters and associated services.
- Support Hadoop ecosystem components including HDFS, ZooKeeper and YARN.
- Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics capabilities.
- Utilize Apache NiFi to support data ingestion, transformation, routing, and integration.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex platform, data-ingestion, storage, and dependency issues.
- Optimize distributed systems for performance, reliability, scalability, and availability.
- Support integration between platform components and mission applications.
- Work with engineering and development teams to improve platform architecture and resilience.
- Support secure data environments and applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop automation and configuration-management solutions where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Mid-to-senior-level systems, platform, data, or distributed-systems engineering experience.\
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Accumulo.
- Experience with Hadoop and HDFS.
- Experience with Apache ZooKeeper.
- Experience with YARN.
- Experience administering, troubleshooting, or optimizing distributed data systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across interconnected platform components.
