Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer

This position requires onsite work in  Plano, TX or McKinney, TX and an active Top Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus has an immediate need for a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to support our production and sustainment programs. The ideal candidate brings extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of RF platforms, including Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA), Digital Receiver Exciter (DREX) Subassemblies, and RF measurement equipment. In this role, you will collaborate across engineering disciplines to investigate, troubleshoot, and solve complex system and subsystem issues that arise during production, testing, and hardware deployment. This position requires strong technical leadership, advanced technical investigations, and a commitment to knowledge transfer within the team.

Day in the Life:

• Conduct detailed failure investigations and provide actionable recommendations to address systemic issues and prevent recurrence
• Develop analysis tools and run simulations to assist with problem identification and resolution
• Perform comprehensive trade studies to optimize overall system performance and guide future technical developments
• Partner closely with Systems Engineers to develop, implement, and validate technical solutions
• Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks throughout the program lifecycle
• Generate clear, detailed technical reports and present findings directly to management and external customers
• Provide daily, dependable on-site technical support to operations and production teams

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Top Secret clearance is required
• 8 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor's Degree
• Cultural fit amongst a collaborative team environment
• Advanced proficiency with RF-related equipment, including Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, and DMMs
• Proven experience with RF/Antenna testing in compact ranges and anechoic chambers, including the calibration and maintenance of chamber equipment for accurate measurements
• Direct experience with Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA) and extensive knowledge of Digital Receiver Exciter (DREX) Subassemblies
• Experience working directly on a live production program
• Experience generating functional analysis tools using MATLAB

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued SCI/SAP security clearance
• Proven ability to support operations across multiple site locations in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-based production environment
• Experience generating and presenting preliminary and critical design reviews (PDR/CDR)
• Prior experience delivering technical briefings or presentations, paired with excellent written and oral communication skills
