What you'll do
The Advanced Space Products (ASP) team is responsible for development of full lifecycle space programs with varying scope, from chip scale to full-on space missions. Our programs provide key capabilities for the US government as well as commercial end-users.
Programs in the business area are far-reaching and impactful - enabling the US and the world in commercial and defense applications like resilient space communications and networking, remote sensing, and much more. The ASP team is primarily composed of a small group of highly skilled cross-domain engineers who take on challenging problems daily.
The day-to-day
As a Program Manager, you will lead multiple, concurrent projects involving spacecraft components in the development, procurement, manufacturing, test and delivery of advanced satellite communications solutions.
The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong customer relationships while leading a cross-functional engineering and operations team. They will manage budget, timeline, and risks to ensure program success. Additionally, they will drive proposal activities and encourage continuous improvement. Salary range
$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annually

The day-to-day
As a Program Manager, you will lead multiple, concurrent projects involving spacecraft components in the development, procurement, manufacturing, test and delivery of advanced satellite communications solutions.
The ideal candidate will build and maintain strong customer relationships while leading a cross-functional engineering and operations team. They will manage budget, timeline, and risks to ensure program success. Additionally, they will drive proposal activities and encourage continuous improvement. Serving as the Program Manager, you will:
- Develop detailed build plans, execute complex procurement activities, manage and direct contract manufacturers, management in house manufacturing builds and manage test and delivery of hardware
- Collaborate with functional and matrixed leadership to ensure timely and appropriate allocation of personnel and resources in support of program execution
- Provide accurate, timely program execution, financial status, and risk reporting to senior leadership, external customers and key stakeholders
- Support capture and business development activities by leading proposal cost estimates and contributing program management and execution content
- Apply earned value management (EVM) and risk management disciplines to effectively plan, monitor, and control program cost, schedule, and performance
What you'll need
- 6+ years' of progressive professional experience in program management or project execution roles
- Proven background in program planning, monitoring and control, financial accounting, contracts, risk management and earned value
- Demonstrated experience leading the development of space systems, spacecraft, components, and/or complex electromechanical systems, including RF and Optical Communications
- Experience with manufacturing and test of space flight hardware
- Demonstrated experience managing program design and control, earned value management (EVM), risk management, and contract execution
- Ability to work independently to define and resolve complex problems, anticipate future program needs, and establish meaningful metrics to measure success
- Solid communication skills (both verbal and written) with demonstrated ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline
- US Government position. US Citizenship required
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible
- Ability to travel up to 10%
What will help you on the job
- Holding a valid DoD Secret clearance or Top Secret clearance accompanied by SSBI/SCI eligibility
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Master's degree in a relevant Engineering, Science, or Business discipline
- Experience managing concurrent operations & development programs
