JOB STATUS: Fulltime

CLEARANCE: TS/SCI Eligible

TRAVEL: As Needed

SALARY: $150K-$175K

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Program Analyst/Senior Space Systems Engineer to join the Task Force Futures Team, Space Systems Integration Office (SSIO), Space Systems Command (SSC), Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA.

As a member of the Task Force Futures Team, you will play a critical role in developing, advancing, and delivering system-of-systems space capabilities in support of national security objectives. This is an opportunity to define the future of space operations, shape enterprise requirements, perform mission engineering, and drive science and technology investments across USSF mission portfolios.

You will contribute to Development Plans for USSF core and enterprise functions that bridge future warfighter capability needs to a plan for acquiring materiel solutions.

You will also create a roadmap of activities and technology maturation processes that guide requirements and acquisition efforts.

You will have opportunities to learn and use innovative tools, such as Artificial Intelligence, to analyze data and create work products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience in supporting space systems acquisitions, systems engineering, and operations; must be knowledgeable of DoD acquisition processes
  • USAF/USSF Corporate Science and Technology maturation experience
  • Master's Degree in a related STEM field (i.e. Engineering or Mathematics)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to track/perform all functional duties independently
  • Current Top Secret Security Clearance, SCI eligible


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience using AI Tools to analyze and develop data
  • Demonstrated proficiency with management of tactical and strategic communications, marketing, and development of work products
  • Exceptional customer relationship management highly desirable


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluation and assessment of future space and missile Systems of Systems (SoS)
    and Families of Systems (FoS) at the cross-enterprise level, linking materiel solutions to warfighter capability needs in new combinations
  • Create and assess systems, enterprise, and scenario-based roadmaps
  • Perform assessment of technology needs, threats and gaps
  • Provide cross-enterprise architecting analysis, engineering best practices, and
    enterprise level integration to provide highly integrated space enterprise capabilities
    to the warfighter and rapid decision quality support for key modernization or
    recapitalization decisions
  • Create and synchronize the enterprise SoS policy and processes to
    support SSC mission across multiple space programs
  • Assist government managers in the management of projects and taskings by
    developing and tracking performance and schedule
  • Support technology development to improve the number of successful technology
    plans and the eventual investments and projects that meet technology needs
  • Support analysis of capability gaps or shortfalls and what technology needs may be
    derived or evident in that problem area; work products include rationale, an
    approach to investigate or develop courses of actions as proposals the Science and
    Technology (S&T) community should assess
  • Technical support includes engineering evaluation of technology performance (technical performance measures), the maturation timelines (the roadmap), and the criteria and mechanisms to transition the technology to acquisition programs/sponsors
  • Assist the development of strategic S&T partnerships with mission partners such
    as Air Force Research Lab, SpaceWERX, MIT/Lincoln Labs, Space Developmental
    Agency, Space Rapid Capabilities Office, etc.
  • Conduct and support overall planning for technology management activities
  • Support the management of USSF S&T within DAFI 61-101
  • Work to establish and monitor Capability Collaboration Teams (CCTs); invigorate the transition planning processes; and work with the community to increase the transition of selected technology solutions
  • Define clear, justifiable, and traceable S&T priorities for the USSF, aligning them with future force design and strategic guidance to ensure focused S&T investment in critical capabilities
  • Understand and baseline the status of all USSF S&T investments and explain their reach back to objective force capabilities to inform funding recommendations on investments and divestments
