Job Description

Summary

The Security Clerk II plays a critical role in supporting security operations at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's Eastern Currency Facility (ECF), one of the nation's most secure and mission-critical facilities. In this position, you will assist with badging, credentialing, access control, personnel security, and visitor management functions that help safeguard federal employees, visitors, facilities, and the production of U.S. currency.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security-focused professional who enjoys working directly with people, managing sensitive information, and supporting operations in a high-security federal environment.

The compensation for this role is $27.50/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, verify, and process access badge requests and associated documentation.
  • Ensure badge requests are complete, accurate , and properly approved in accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) requirements.
  • Review and process Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential applications and supporting documentation.
  • Complete credentialing documentation following identity verification procedures.
  • Conduct applicant identity-proofing and enrollment activities using credential management systems and enrollment stations.
  • Produce, issue, activate, and distribute PIV credentials while maintaining strict accountability and security controls.
  • Provide credential activation assistance and user guidance to badge applicants as required .
  • Maintain security records, databases, logs, and related documentation.
  • Support access control, visitor management, personnel security, and emergency operations functions.
  • Protect sensitive, confidential, and personally identifiable information (PII) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, inspections, and record validation activities.
  • Support daily security office operations and ensure accurate tracking of credentialing activities.
  • Respond to routine security-related inquiries from employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :
  • Act ive Secret Security Clearance required .
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in an administrative, clerical, customer service, security support, badging, credentialing, or related position.
  • Ability to successfully pass required background investigations.
  • Must be in good financial standing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting federal government security operations.
  • Experience with HSPD-12 and PIV credentialing programs.
  • Experience working within access control, visitor management, personnel security, or physical security programs.
  • Previous experience in a high-security or cleared environment.
  • Familiarity with credential management systems and security databases.

Estimated Salary/Wage

USD $27.50/Hr.
