Job Title: Senior Cloud Solution Architect
Location: Ottawa, ON
Duration: 12+ Months
Pay rate: C$100 to C$110

Introduction

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered)
- Canadian Federal Government Security Clearance - Reliability Status
- University degree or college diploma in computer science or a related discipline
- A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in information technology, with at least 5 years of experience in Solution Architecture supporting complex enterprise technology environments
- A minimum of five (5) years of recent demonstrated experience architecting and delivering cloud-native and container-based solutions using Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift, and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Azure IaaS infrastructure, networking, security, data protection, and workload portability solutions
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required)
- Demonstrated experience architecting highly available, resilient, and scalable multi-site, multi-region, and multi-cloud solutions
- Experience applying cloud financial management (FinOps) principles, cost optimization strategies, governance practices, and risk management
- Experience supporting the full system development lifecycle (SDLC) and resolving complex technical risks, issues, and dependencies
Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role)
- Oversee the solution architecture activities ensuring effective coordination across cloud, container, database, integration, security, and operations teams
- Develop, maintain, and govern the end-to-end Solution Architecture Document (SAD) and architecture decision records
- Facilitate architecture reviews, technical assessments, risk identification, and governance activities
- Ensure solution delivery alignment across Azure, OpenShift, SQL, IBM MQ, networking, security, and observability workstreams
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, platform services, and engineering teams
