Overview:

The Production Control Clerk provides program, administrative, data management, production control, and logistics systems support for the Distribution Management Support Services (DMSS) program supporting Marine Corps Logistics Command and the Marine Corps.

The position is responsible for compiling, maintaining, validating, tracking, and reporting logistics and production-related information used to support distribution operations and Fleet Marine Force readiness. The Production Control Clerk uses Government and contractor information systems, databases, spreadsheets, reports, and other tools to monitor workload, maintain program records, track actions and production status, and provide accurate and timely information to program management.

The position supports DMSS activities involving integrated logistics support, program management, distribution management, metrics and analysis, supply-chain advocacy, container control/inventory advocacy, cargo movement, and preparation of Marine Corps equipment and material for transportation. The DMSS PWS organizes these services into four primary domains: Enterprise Distribution Analytics & Strategy, Nodal Expediting & Process Advocacy, Financial & Transportation Account Management, and Physical Freight & Container Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Compile, enter, maintain, validate, and retrieve production, workload, logistics, transportation, and distribution data using applicable Government and contractor information systems.
  • Monitor and maintain information related to workload status, production activity, cargo movement, material status, transportation actions, inventory, and other assigned distribution-management functions.
  • Compile information from work requests, customer requirements, logistics systems, reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other source documentation.
  • Track the status and completion of assigned actions and identify incomplete, overdue, inaccurate, or unresolved requirements for appropriate follow-up.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc production, workload, logistics, and management reports using established formats and procedures.
  • Calculate, compile, and report workload volumes, production rates, transaction activity, material quantities, discrepancies, aging actions, and other performance metrics as required.
  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy program files, supporting documentation, reports, work records, correspondence, and other required records.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets, trackers, databases, charts, and other tools used by program personnel to monitor workload and performance.
  • Assist with the preparation of schedules and workload priorities based on established requirements and management direction.
  • Review data and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with appropriate contractor personnel to obtain information necessary to update workload and production records.
  • Support the preparation of briefings, status reports, metrics, and other program-management deliverables.
  • Assist in identifying trends, recurring discrepancies, bottlenecks, or other conditions affecting distribution operations and elevate findings through the appropriate contractor management channels.
  • Provide administrative and systems support associated with cargo tracking, distribution operations, transportation management, inventory/container accountability, and related logistics activities.
  • Maintain familiarity with applicable Marine Corps, DoD, and local procedures governing assigned distribution-management activities.
  • Protect Government, company, controlled, and sensitive information in accordance with applicable security and information-management requirements.
  • Perform other related production-control, program-administration, and logistics-support duties necessary to meet contract requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or additional education in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in production control, logistics administration, supply, transportation, distribution, data management, program administration, or a related environment.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or other Federal Government logistics operations preferred.
  • Experience working with automated logistics, transportation, supply, inventory, or production-management systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Accurately enter, organize, retrieve, analyze, and report data.
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and applicable Government information systems.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage multiple trackers and data sources.
  • Analyze information for discrepancies and perform basic quantitative calculations.
  • Prepare professional reports, correspondence, spreadsheets, charts, and status updates.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments and meet established deadlines.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, work instructions, and Government requirements.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with contractor personnel and authorized Government personnel.
  • Work independently within established procedures while escalating issues requiring management attention.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately safeguard Government and company information.

Security Clearance:

Position requires U.S. Citizenship, a United States Government background check and may require a U.S. Government SECRET Clearance.

If SECRET Clearance Level is required, candidate must also:
  • Must have a current United States Government SECRET level security clearance or be able to successfully obtain the required clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance.
