Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

*Please be aware that this position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to maintenance at the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

This position requires the selected candidate to plan and execute systems engineering core functions, including collaboration with IPTs, site personnel, customer, and development program counterparts in support of the in-operational and forthcoming assets and baselines.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Maintain CONOPS, requirement specifications, ICD, Mathematic Algorithm Requirement (MAR), and other document products.

-Responsible for the systems and subsystems, ensuring that teams have qualified staff (including MAR author) to develop and demonstrate technical performance.

-Responsible for individual MAR with specific algorithm revision, coordination, and validation.

-Responsible for scheduling, organizing, and coordinating activities related to the development of systems engineering products

-Responsible for preparing and conducting reviews following the MAR change notice process (MCN) for MAR revision.

-Maintain oversight of MAR progress and have ability to conduct MAR working group (WG) with various IPTs and vendors.

-Maintain metrics for MCN and MAR performance

-Maintain in-operation assets and databases for in-operation products and work with development team to see through database updates and validations so that they can be documented and controlled to mission execution.

-Handle anomaly resolution

-Review software and hardware discrepancy reports

-Analyze trade studies

Basic Qualifications for Systems Engineer - Level 4:

-Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8+ years of engineering experience OR

-Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 6+ years of engineering experience OR

-PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 4+ years of engineering experience

-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date OR

-Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) at time of application as well as the ability to obtain and maintain active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate's maintenance of the level of clearance and program access required for the position in the future.

-Previous SE leadership experience across all levels of Systems Engineering discipline, including development & maintenance of CONOPS, requirements and ICDs.

-Experience leading MAR development, algorithm revisions, and validations.

-Self-motivated with excellent communication skills to effectively interact with government counterparts and internal cross-functional IPTs.

-Experience with Systems Architecture development and maintenance to support system designs.

-Proficient in Perl and understanding of Python, C++, and MATLAB programming languages.

-Experience with Linux system environment and software structures.

-Proficiency with Database systems.

Preferred Qualifications for Systems Engineer - Level 4:

-Strong understanding of the MAR algorithmic content and ability to analyze and provide recommended revisions on systems currently in operations.

-Experience with product lifecycle management software, including Teamcenter

-Proficient in tools such as Enovia, Atlassian Confluence, Atlassian Jira, and other related System Engineering programs.

-Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance (or equivalent) clearance along with active SCI access at time of application and prior to start date

Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
