Job Summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Acquisition Operations Specialist to support a high-visibility Army acquisition organization in Huntsville, Alabama. This position serves as a senior advisor supporting acquisition planning, program oversight, reporting, executive communications, and operational coordination across complex defense programs. The selected candidate will work closely with PMO leadership, program managers, and government stakeholders to facilitate acquisition reviews, manage critical reporting requirements, and resolve complex programmatic issues impacting mission execution. This role requires extensive experience navigating defense acquisition systems, policies, and lifecycle management processes while providing actionable recommendations to senior leaders. The position offers an opportunity to directly influence program execution, organizational effectiveness, and strategic decision-making across mission-critical acquisition programs.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate acquisition planning activities, systems readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and other formal program reviews supporting Army acquisition programs.
  • Execute recurring acquisition data collection, analysis, validation, and reporting requirements across Army and defense program management systems and databases.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on acquisition oversight processes, reporting tools, lifecycle management requirements, and program tracking systems.
  • Develop executive briefings, decision papers, executive summaries, reports, and recommendations for senior government and PMO leadership.
  • Analyze complex acquisition, management, and technical issues and recommend solutions to improve program execution and organizational performance.
  • Review and coordinate action papers, staff studies, regulations, policies, manuals, and investigative reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organizational policies, procedures, information management processes, and security-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate special projects and sensitive initiatives involving senior Army leadership, program executive offices, and external government organizations.
  • Evaluate organizational budget requirements and provide analysis and recommendations supporting special programs and strategic initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of mission and business requirements.


Basic Qualifications
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense acquisition programs.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience supporting Army Program Executive Offices (PEOs), Project Manager Offices (PMOs), or equivalent federal acquisition organizations.
  • Experience preparing acquisition documentation, executive briefings, decision papers, and program review materials.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition policies, lifecycle management processes, and program oversight requirements.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Program Management, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • DAWIA certification or equivalent acquisition certification.
  • Experience supporting Army modernization, weapons systems, aviation, missile defense, or command-and-control programs.
  • Experience with acquisition reporting systems, portfolio management tools, and enterprise-level program tracking databases.
  • PMP certification or comparable program management credential.
