Duties

As an ADMINISTRATIVE OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serving as principal point of contact for the Executive Director and refers matters for action and coordination to the appropriate branch
  • Utilizing the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2)
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the calendar, including coordinating attendance at, and arranging for hosting of all meetings/briefings, forecasting potential requirements, deconflicts problems, and plans and projects time for one time and historically recurring
    requirements
  • In-processing of all assigned civilian and military personnel
  • Ensuring appropriate liaison and coordination is conducted with key civilian and military officials within the Joint Staff or other departments and agencies as necessary

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS- 12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Applies organizational missions, roles, functions, and administrative policies of the Office of the Chairman, the Joint Staff, and the Office of the Secretary of War, while actively applying a working knowledge of the missions, goals, and functions of other U.S. Government departments and agencies;
  • Completing a wide range of administrative support functions to include maintaining a calendar, arranging meetings/briefings, coordinating appointments, entering travel requests, and arranging ground travel;
  • Applying administrative and managerial regulations, policies and practices; the ability to formulate, implement guidance and apply new methods and procedures in administrative support, safety, supply accountability, travel, training, records management, publications and security;
  • Applying evaluative and analytical methods to identify actions for proper dissemination to staff sections for appropriate action; to determine specific and implied tasks; and to negotiate reassignments of returned or unfavorable placement of taskings.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
