Project Manager

Client: Peraton
End Client: USPS
Location: Remote
Pay: $56.50/hr W2
Contract: 6 months to start, extension likely
Clearance: Must be able to obtain a sensitive/Public Trust-level clearance

Overview
Peraton is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead technical projects from initial assignment through implementation. This role combines project delivery, Agile leadership, work management, change management, technical coordination, and executive communication.

The Project Manager will work closely with development, testing, management, and executive teams to define milestones, guide delivery, improve processes, and ensure projects remain aligned with business and technical objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define project requirements, milestones, phases, and deliverables
  • Lead projects from assignment through implementation
  • Support management teams with organizational and project change management
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive corrective actions
  • Partner with analysts and developers to design technical solutions
  • Provide direction to development and testing Scrum teams
  • Oversee work management activities and delivery priorities
  • Coordinate high-performing technical teams and executive stakeholders
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to application development teams
  • Guide application design, development, and maintenance activities
  • Make well-supported recommendations based on research and analysis
  • Present multiple solution options, including pros, cons, and recommendations
  • Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations at all levels of the organization
  • Support SOX-related documentation as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 8-12 years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong project management and technical delivery experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with VersionOne or similar work-management tools
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience directing or coordinating development and testing teams
  • Strong executive-level presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage project responsibilities
  • Experience driving process improvements and change-management initiatives
  • Ability to provide clear technical recommendations supported by research and analysis
  • Experience managing work across multiple stakeholders and technical teams

Technical Knowledge
Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
  • Java
  • UNIX
  • SQL
  • Oracle Database
  • Application Development
  • Software Testing
  • Agile / Scrum
  • VersionOne
  • Work Management
  • Change Management
  • SDLC

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior management or technical leadership experience
  • Experience leading application-development teams
  • Experience mentoring developers or technical staff
  • Working knowledge of Java-based application environments
  • UNIX experience
  • Oracle / SQL experience
  • SOX documentation experience
  • Experience supporting large enterprise or federal technology programs

Education & Experience
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience required
  • Degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field required
  • If the degree is not in the applicable field, 4 additional years of related experience are required
  • Must be capable of performing functional responsibilities independently

Clearance & Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
  • Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years
  • Cannot have more than 6 months of international travel within the past 5 years, excluding military service
  • Must pass client-mandated drug screening, criminal history check, and credit check
  • Continued employment following interim clearance is dependent upon receiving the required sensitive clearance

Additional Notes
  • Fully remote position
  • Standard work week is 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, preferably Monday through Friday
  • Travel may occasionally be required
  • Overtime requires prior written approval and is reimbursed at straight time
  • Initial 6-month contract with extension likely
