Summary

CAE Defense & Security is at the forefront of a newly reset five-year strategic plan focused on profitable growth. The Director of Pricing will lead through influence and partner with internal stakeholders-program teams, finance, business development, and government counterparts-to drive a unified, scalable, and globally aligned pricing strategy.

This leader will be responsible for the design, oversight, and continuous enhancement of pricing governance, cost estimating, forward pricing strategy, and competitive analysis. The Director of Pricing will bring thought leadership and operational discipline to ensure CAE's pricing approaches are accurate, compliant, and strategically positioned to win.

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive pricing strategy that aligns with CAE Defense & Security growth objectives and global pricing framework.
  • Foster collaboration and connectivity across U.S. and global pricing, estimating, finance, and BD organizations.
  • Drive innovation in pricing models, cost strategies, and competitive assessments.


Pricing & Cost Estimating Excellence

  • Oversee accurate and compliant development of cost estimates, BOEs, and pricing submissions for competitive and sole-source proposals.
  • Strengthen processes for forward pricing rate proposals, cost estimating relationships, and internal rate structures.
  • Leverage data analytics to improve pricing accuracy, competitiveness, and win probability.


Governance, Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure full adherence to all local regulatory requirements for submitting pricing solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement best practices, standard work, and pricing tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead the integration of pricing processes across business units in preparation for future growth and organizational maturity.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Finance, Contracts, Program Management, and Business Development to ensure consistency and alignment in pricing assumptions and strategies.
  • Support internal governance reviews and provide pricing insights for executive decision-making.


Leadership & Talent Development
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing pricing team, identifying capability gaps and strengthening technical expertise.
  • Create a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in pricing, cost estimating, program finance, or financial management within the U.S. defense industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in competitive pricing, cost strategy, and government contracting.• Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS and government cost accounting standards.
  • Experience operating in a high-growth or transformational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience with pricing or financial systems (e.g., Costpoint, Cognos) is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to meet government contract requirements.

  • Previous experience as a Systems Engineering Manager

  • Strong analytical, planning, and project management abilities.

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.


Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment
  • Duties mainly performed in an office environment.


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to travel both domestic and internationally.
  • Must be able to work overtime and off-shift.
