Envision Innovative Solutions is seeking a motivated, career-oriented, and customer-focused Junior Systems Engineer to join our team in support of critical mission operations at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside engineering and configuration management professionals supporting the lifecycle management, documentation, and configuration control of complex weapon systems and engineering data.
As a member of our team, you will play a key role in maintaining engineering documentation, managing system configurations, supporting technical data management activities, and helping ensure the integrity of baseline configurations throughout the product lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Supports technical teams with documentation, data handling, and reporting.
• Manages document workflow from inception to delivery;
• Manages deliverable documentation versioning in the repository
• Documents and reviews Software Engineering and Software Testing anomalies
• Maintains controlled technical drawings and configuration-managed data, ensuring compliance with Configuration Management (CM) processes.
• Assists contractors and government leads in the development of policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Reviews technical drawings, parts lists, e-BOMs, system schematics and diagrams, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and Engineering Release Records (ERRs) for accuracy; confer with product and system engineering teams to discuss necessary modifications.
• Records and prepares reports for various weapons system/programs
• Leads full life-cycle CDRL development in compliance with DID, SOW, and QMS requirements,.
Implements a Knowledge Management (KM) driven CDRL review process integrating Task Knowledge
• Assets (TKA)s to improve document control, consistency, and cross team accessibility.
• Trains staff in quality procedures, documentation workflows, and DoD compliance standards
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in systems engineering, configuration management, engineering documentation, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) processes and change control procedures.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Understanding of engineering change requirements and configuration control practices.
• Working knowledge of technical documentation, including:
o Engineering drawings
o Specifications
o Standards
o Technical data packages
Desired Skills:
• Product Data Management (PDM) tools such as:
o Windchill
o Teamcenter
o Konfig
o Similar engineering data management systems
• Familiarity with defense, weapons systems, or military engineering environments.
• Experience working with 2D and 3D CAD documentation.
Security Clearance Requirements:
• Active Secret.
