Sr. System Administrator

Location: Hybrid but must live within 100 miles from Lexington, MA

About the Role:
Aquila Technology is seeking a System Administrator to support one of the nation’s premier defense research organizations. The role supports Linux and Windows platforms, IT computing and network infrastructure, end users, data storage, backup and recovery, and application management. Responsibilities include installing and upgrading systems, troubleshooting issues, developing shell scripts and automation tools, monitoring systems and networks, and assisting with the configuration of routers and switches.

Cell Phone & Internet Reimbursed up to $150 monthly to cover cell phone, data, and home internet expenses. Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.
Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.
Work location: Hybrid — Individual works from home or off-site for a portion of their schedule and within a routinely commutable distance from the Lexington facility. Candidates should expect to be onsite 4-5 days a week.Interview process: Candidate should expect large group interview with hiring team.

Required:
- Strong Linux experience
- Vulnerability management
- Solid understanding of Windows and network fundamentals
- Experience installing, configuring and operating network services such as DNS, DHCP, NIS, NFS, SSH,
- SAMBA, AD
- Github Enterprise Administration
- BackupExec
- Excellent VMware vSphere, vMotion, and vSAN
- Excellent ProxMox skills
- Artfactory repository management
- Atlassian Confluence, JIRA, and Bamboo management
- ACAS
- Splunk
- Strong understanding for DoD RMF and STIG process
- Experience installing and configuring routers and switches
- Must be team oriented, have strong communication skills and have the ability to work independently to develop novel IT solutions to enhance productivity and reliability of computing resources
- Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, comprehensive and troubleshooting skills are required.
