This role requires mature technical judgment and mastery of MBSE methods to support complex DoW systems and large-scale digital transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Translate government technical direction into actionable MBSE modeling workflows and SysML model structures within Cameo.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Cameo SysML models, ensuring coherence, completeness, and compliance with project standards.
- Manage medium- to large-scale engineering tasks with a focus on integrating modeling activities across Digital Thread data, simulation tools, and engineering processes.
- Serve as the lead SysML modeler for mission engineering events, technical reviews, experiment planning, and integration activities requiring advanced MBSE expertise.
- Support integration and testing through the use of MBSE tools, including model execution, parametrics, and digital workflow automation.
- Ensure timely delivery of MBSE artifacts, including model packages, viewpoints, architecture descriptions, and traceability analyses.
- Coordinate frequently with government technical representatives to align modeling products with mission requirements and system objectives.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in MBSE best practices, SysML diagramming, Cameo usage, and model quality assurance.
- Operate independently with minimal oversight while addressing highly complex modeling and engineering challenges.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency with SysML, including structure, behavior, parametrics, and requirements modeling.
- Hands-on expertise with Cameo Systems Modeler, Teamwork Cloud, and model governance workflows.
- Ability to translate complex customer needs into MBSE solution architectures, model structures, and executable system representations.
- Experience directing complex systems analyses, architecture studies, or mission workflows and expressing them in formal SysML models.
- Skilled in identifying optimal modeling approaches, defining modeling style guides, and allocating resources to support architecture development.
- Strong communication skills and business acumen for interfacing with senior government customers.
- Demonstrated leadership in MBSE-centric technical initiatives, modeling committees, digital engineering proposals, and communities of practice.
- Commitment to innovation in digital engineering, including Digital Thread, Digital Twin, and enterprise modeling ecosystem development.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Active Secret Clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience with significant involvement in model-based system design and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex engineering challenges requiring in-depth analysis of both tangible and intangible factors.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams of engineers, analysts, designers, and modelers.
- Knowledge of Digital Thread, Digital Twin, UAF, UML, SysML, and DoDAF concepts, with practical experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate and explain technical details to colleagues, management, and sponsors.
- OCSMP certifications or equivalent MBSE credentials (desired).
