Data Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer to support a company focused on modernizing enterprise data platforms and reporting capabilities within a defense technology environment. This position is 100% onsite in Norfolk, VA. The Data Engineer will design, build, and optimize Azure-based data pipelines that transform complex data into actionable business intelligence. This is an opportunity to play a key role in enabling data-driven decision making through scalable cloud data solutions and enterprise reporting.

Responsibilities for the Data Engineer include:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Ingest, transform, cleanse, stage, and aggregate data from multiple enterprise and legacy data sources
• Build and maintain data repositories and SQL-based data solutions to support reporting requirements
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders
• Collaborate with technical teams to integrate disparate systems and improve enterprise data accessibility

Required Qualifications for the Data Engineer include:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, ETL development, or data pipeline development
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL Server, and data integration technologies
• Experience with Power BI, business intelligence reporting, and data visualization
• Strong understanding of enterprise data transformation, data modeling, staging, and aggregation processes
• Ability to work independently to analyze new data sources and determine ingestion, storage, and reporting strategies
• Security+ certification (IAT Level II)
• Active Secret Clearance

Compensation for the Data Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
