Job Description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Buyer to support Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) our government customer located in NORCO, California .

The candidate is responsible for providing purchasing and acquisition support for the facilities maintenance team required to support corrective and preventative maintenance work orders at government facilities pertaining to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and industrial systems supporting real property and equipment in a fast-paced environment.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Research, quote, and purchase parts, materials, equipment and outside service support in support facilities maintenance team completion of corrective and preventative maintenance work orders.
  • Support special projects and efforts with research, quotes, vendor coordination and facility access to acquire service support for equipment, assets, vehicles, industrial machinery and building systems.
  • Interfaces with all staff members to ensure all purchase requisitions for materials are filled out and submitted for consideration in a timely manner.
  • Works with the Program Manager (PM) and Facilities Supervisor/Production Controller (FM/PC) and government stakeholders to create bid packages for special projects.
  • Submits Purchase Authorization requests to government stake holders and/or Program Manager and tracks requests through final disposition.
  • Ensures parts, materials, and services ordered are received, inventoried, and distributed to technicians for install/repair in coordination with the Warehouse Specialist.
  • Negotiating and acquiring best pricing from vendors.
  • Works closely with corporate purchasing department in PO issuance to ensure company purchasing/acquisition policies and procedures are strictly followed and adhered to.
  • Establishes and maintains records of supporting vendors, accounts, receipts, and purchase authorization approvals.
  • Tracks purchases made, purchases authorized, and total amount obligated against government funding and reports data weekly.
  • Reconciles monthly customer invoice against purchases to identify purchases billed vs yet to be billed.
  • Coordinating logistics for incoming freight and containers with warehouse specialist.
  • Generates daily, weekly, monthly inventory data reports.
  • Works closely with the PM and FS/PC towards reducing aging and time sensitive inventory for the program.
  • Works closely with PM, FS/PC and trades leads to ensure critical spares inventories are maintained and current.
  • Keeps the PM and Facilities Supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
  • Assist in performing monthly safety inspections as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the PM and Facilities Supervisor/Production Controller.
  • May be assigned other collateral duties as required.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

High school diploma and three (3) years of experience performing purchasing and procurement duties

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum three (3) years experience performing in a purchasing/procurement/acquisition role.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Strong communication skills internally with staff and externally with government stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to manually track purchase requests through receipt of parts, materials, and services across many concurrent projects, efforts, and taskings.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience providing parts and materials acquisition support in a Facilities Maintenance or Industrial/Commercial maintenance environment a plus.
  • Parts, materials, and supply acquisition experience in support of a federal government contract a plus.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

COMPENSATION DETAILS:
  • $65,000 - $80,000
  • The compensation range or hourly rate provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable laws.
