Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking an SME Systems Engineer / Architect to join our growing organization. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our Nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. You will work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. This position will perform as a senior Systems Engineer supporting the J6 Development Branch at Joint Special Operations Command. Assignments are generally complex in nature with considerable discretion given to work details and approaches utilized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Provide technical advice and engineering guidance for next generation planning efforts
- Performs a variety of complex project tasks applied to specialized technology problems.
- Be able to provide technical direction and be a member of a group of one or more engineers to address a goal.
- Responsible for planning and implementing mission capabilities and transition to enterprise services, virtualized and cloud-based technologies
- Support internally hosted advanced technologies and to support the Government decision to transition to enterprise services in a cloud environment, and migration of IT services to a new hosting service or technology stack in a multi-cloud environment
- Tasks involve integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or technology problems.
- Must Possess knowledge of LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, network protocols, and other security and network operations and monitoring, vulnerability analysis, PKI, data encryption, key management, data warehousing, and data mining capabilities.
- Maintain and operate network and system management software, and other systems such as patch servers, update servers, and storage solutions
- Provide on-site Tier II and Tier III support for Enterprise network infrastructure, while working in conjunction with the Enterprise Network service providers to ensure delivery of Enterprise-wide services. This support shall include all related planning, system architecture, installation, configuration, O&M, documentation, engineering, and CS activities related to network services
- Conduct engineering analysis, and testing to develop, modernize, and integrate solutions in support of the U.S. Government Program Office priorities and requirements. Conduct technology assessments and recommend software and hardware technologies, tools, applications, networks, and architectures
- Conduct research and analysis to address a wide range of technical issues. Conduct robust analysis for multiple systems engineering activities, Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), and Business Case Analyses (BCAs) to identify technology and acquisition alternatives and recommend solutions for development. Conduct research, analysis, experimentation, wargaming, studies, and material solutions assessments to proactively develop solutions that meet the U.S. Government Program Office priorities
- Assess new emerging technology (e.g., IT technologies, internet of things, cloud, deployable communications kits, and at-the-edge data analytic capabilities) for potential benefits and make recommendations to the U.S. Government Program Office for further analysis, development, and testing to include initial deployment recommendations.
- Perform operational and technical requirements analyses to include analyzing general U.S. Government Program Office operational requirements and translating them into technical requirements. Conduct AoAs on system concepts and designs, feasibility assessments of interoperability with similar systems, trade-off analyses, and technical approach analyses
- Enforce adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions throughout full lifecycle
- Responsible for diagraming and documenting current and future network designs.
- Works with security team on best practices, known risks, and recommendations.
- Sustain the necessary data throughput rate by monitoring networking activity and maintaining existing equipment
- Work with Cyber Security analysts to ensure Enterprise information systems are secure
- Assist with the deployment of hardware and applications and ensure appropriate service levels. Includes physical servers, network devices and other hardware essential to data center operations.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
The required skills and knowledge include:
- US Citizenship and Possess an Active TS/SCI Clearance.
- 7+ years of Engineering experience.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree (CS, CE, CIS, IS, MIS, or engineering discipline) or equivalent work Previous experience developing system models and architectures
- Hands-on Experience in working with DoD networks, including NIPR & SIPR.
- Ability to assist with planning and implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the data centers / network
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of virtualization, operating systems, and computer hardware / software, etc.
- Fundamental background in working in the hybrid-cloud environment
- Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics
The minimum years of related experience required: 5
Education
- The minimum level of education required is: BS in Information Technology or related field
- DoD 8570 Compliant; IAT LVL II Certified: MUST have one of the following:
- CCIE
- CCNA Security
- CCNA Cyber
- CySA+ **
- CISSP
- SSCP
