BAE Systems is looking for a Software Requirements Lead to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting an acquisition program for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) System. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight, agile management, and cross-organizational liaison support for the Strategic Automated Command Control System (SACCS) Acquisition Programs. This program is designed to modernize the SACCS systems.
As the central requirements manager, you will serve as the critical bridge between Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) operational requirements, the Program Office at Hill AFB systems engineering for sustainment and modernization efforts, the 595th Software Squadron located at Offutt AFB software development team, and contractors supporting program office software development. You will manage schedule of these ongoing development, testing and fielding timelines.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120650 - $160123
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Candidates will be called upon to provide breadth and depth of capabilities to:
- Manage the Software Lifecycle: Intake, translate, and manage complex software requirements generated by AFGSC to ensure mandates and scheduled timelines are streamlined and appropriate.
- Agile Schedule Management: Oversee development timelines, sprint planning, and delivery schedules for the organic software development currently executed by the 595th Squadron at Offutt AFB.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the primary technical and operational liaison between the Hill AFB Program Office (implementation authority), AFGSC (requirements owner), and Offutt AFB (current developers).
- Strategic Transition Planning: Actively prepare for and manage the future strategic Integration of software development from organic Air Force resources to a program office contractors, ensuring zero degradation to the SACCS operational mission.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Deliver presentations to stakeholders, military leaders, and working groups to effectively communicate software progress, sprint outcomes, and transition roadmaps.

Qualifications & Attributes
Potential candidates must validate the ability to accomplish the following activities while demonstrating strong leadership attributes:
- Agile & SDLC Expertise: Have a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (sprints, backlog grooming, product ownership).
- Requirements Engineering: Possess significant knowledge of software requirements gathering, documentation, and traceability techniques.
- Diplomacy & Communication: Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex military-civilian organizational dynamics and manage friction points smoothly.
- Independent Leadership: Lead, work independently, and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder DoW environment.
- Project Oversight: Provide technical and project leadership of all phases of software design analysis, development, integration, and implementation.
- Travel: Be willing and able to occasionally travel between Hill AFB, Offutt AFB, and other required locations ~25%.

Required Skills and Education
- BS/MS in Software engineering, computer science, information technologies, data processing, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, physics, or mathematics
- 7 yrs directly related experience (5 yrs with MS degree).
- Methodology: Familiarity with software engineering frameworks, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and software requirements management lifecycles.
- Tooling: Proficiency in using software requirements management and tracking tools (e.g., Jira, IBM DOORS, Confluence, or similar platforms).
- Analysis: Capable of translating high-level operational requirements into detailed software requirement specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Architecture & Integration: Able to understand system architecture, software integration points, MBSE methodologies, and apply sound systems engineering concepts to software delivery.
- Problem Solving: Analyze complex software issues and develop innovative coordination solutions, particularly concerning software timeline risks and cross-agency integration.
- Communication: Have excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and good organizational skills to manage multi-organizational friction.
- Transition Planning: Able to identify, develop, and deploy methods, processes, and guidelines for transitioning software requirements from existing systems through software migrations effort to implement new capabilities.
- Security Clearance: Active US DoD Secret Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years.
- Self-Management: Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results.

- Previous work with DoW, USAF or other military communication systems.
