Job Description

Duties

  • Serves as the subject matter expert and principal advisor to the Hospital Director.
  • Establishes an effective suspense control system for the Management and Control of all Written Congressionals, Greivances, Complaints, and Union Issues for the Executive Leadership.
  • Serves as the Primary Advisor to the Hospital Director for proceedings of high-ranking U.S. and foreign dignitaries, elected and appointed national and state government officials, and Professional Staff Members (PSMs).
  • Coordinates with diverse groups across Hospital boundaries in operations, emergency management, medical support, protocol, and also manages in the design, event planning, contingency planning, and execution of large scale events.
  • Oversees Command special staff in Protocol in the execution of duties supporting the Executive Leadership.
  • Monitors the Departmental Budget and execution of funds accordingly.
  • Serves as the Director of the Office, by providing direction and leadership for the day-to-day work operations and programs through subordinate product lines, project coordinators, and/or administrative support staff.

  • Tier 3(Secret): This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Influenza: This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons
  • Tuberculosis (TB): This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Coordinating administrative functions such as Congressional inquiries, grievances, complaints, Freedom of Information ACT (FOIA)documentation and Taskers; 2) Providing technical and administrative direction in accordance with published regulations and policies; 3) Performing as the liaison for multi-faceted protocol visits, and command functions ; and 4) Planning briefings for large scale and/or multi day events.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
