Job Description
We are hiring a Test Engineer to ensure product quality by developing, executing, and automating test plans for software, analyzing test results, and troubleshooting defects prior to transition to mission partners. This role will support automated testing of mature prototypes and data projects while working closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, QA personnel, and technical stakeholders to identify and resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, maintain, and automate test plans for software applications and data-processing projects.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and work with development teams to drive defects through resolution.
- Design and maintain automated testing solutions using modern test frameworks and CI/CD tools.
- Support automated testing of mature prototypes and data projects prior to operational transition.
- Document test results, defects, test coverage, and quality metrics.
- Progress toward independently executing assigned testing activities and delivering results by the six-month mid-program review.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and transition partners to support software quality and release readiness.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of professional test engineering or software quality assurance experience.
- Strong experience developing, executing, and automating software test plans.
- Experience with Cypress, CI/CD tools, PyTest, and/or similar automated testing frameworks.
- Experience troubleshooting software defects and analyzing test results to identify root causes.
- Familiarity with automated testing of software prototypes, data-processing applications, or similar technical systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and meet established deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- Demonstrated ability to progressively assume independent responsibility for testing activities.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Ability to work in McLean, VA; Huntsville, AL; or remotely, as required by the program.
