Standard Job Description

You will be the Manufacturing Engineer Staff for the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Development Team. Our team is responsible for improving producibility of early designs, creating manufacturing plans and processes, and supporting the transition from development to low-rate initial production.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Manufacturing Engineer Staff you will be responsible for ensuring new designs are manufacturable, developing manufacturing plans, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to drive cost-effective production. You will act as the primary engineering liaison, evaluate designs, and support early-stage assemblies.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, make-or-buy analyses, and readiness assessments.
  • Collaborate with Design, Integration, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure producibility.
  • Provide manufacturing feedback and cost-justification for design decisions.
  • Support early-development assemblies and conduct on-site visits to suppliers and Lockheed sites.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Advanced Manufacturing and Technology integration.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineer, or equivalent)

Ability to obtain a security clearance, an Interim Secret clearance is required to start

Experience with Manufacturing / Assembly / Production processes

Shop floor Manufacturing Engineer experience

Experience with creating/reviewing work instructions

Ability to travel domestic and/or international

Desired Skills

Bachelor's or higher degree in technical discipline (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, etc. with MFG shop experience)

Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly or design to cost of electrical and electro-mechanical designs

Knowledge within the SAP MRP production control system

Experience with Circuit Card Assemblies, Wire Harness, or General Assembly

Earned Value Management Experience

Lean / Six Sigma Green of Black Belt Certification

Experience working with Government customers

Exposure to working with program management

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
