Program Overview

Engineering, integration, and cybersecurity support to design, build, and test enhanced services for the Department of Navy's IT architecture. Offers a wide range of roles, from cybersecurity experts to engineers specializing in systems, networks, software, and data center services.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to support our customer onsite in Washington D.C. The Senior Technical Manager will provide technical and operational leadership for cyber security support services, Assessment & Authorization (A&A), and Cyber Monitoring programs. This role requires strong leadership savvy to manage cross-functional technical teams, drive project execution within programmatic guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer, and ensure delivery of secure, compliant, and mission-ready IT and cybersecurity solutions. Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance and hold a DoD 8140-advance certification. Key Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrated leadership acumen, with experience leading technical teams and managing stakeholder relationships across program and customer organizations.
  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; and preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying the project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Controls the project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan/schedule changes, and recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by approving expenditure and administering contractor contracts.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions.
  • Provides technical/operational leadership of a project/mission within the programmatic guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Defines, generates, and reviews project requirements documentation.Performs technical studies to refine project requirements.
  • Monitors the project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
  • Write and deliver white papers and brief executive leadership

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Requires 12 years of relevant experience, may have supervisory or management experience
  • Requires a four-year degree or four years work experience equivalent and minimum 5 years leading project systems engineers to deliver new and upgrade existing services
  • Certification: Information Assurance certification consistent with DoD 8140 advanced-level certification.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI required
  • 4 years of recent (within the past 5 years) experience with Microsoft operating systems and software, the VMware technology suite, and Linux.
  • Experience with VMware datacenter solutions for enclaves, multitenancy, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with DevOps, automation, and scripting.
  • Experience with RMF and DoDAF 2.0 documentation standards and Change Management processes.
  • Professional-level certifications (Microsoft, Linux, VMware, and cloud - AWS/Azure) obtained within the last 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with zero-trust.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or DoD customers in a cyber operations or SOC environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous monitoring (ConMon) tools and enterprise SIEM platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks in a technical program setting.
  • Prior experience managing subcontractors or teaming partners on federal contracts.

Details

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
