This is a unique opportunity to lead a team driving design, development, integration, test, and execution for one of the most critical initiatives in national defense.

Primary Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Technical Oversight:
  • Lead and manage a technical team of systems engineers supporting the Sentinel Program Office at Hill AFB.
  • Oversee systems engineering processes, including design reviews, requirements management, risk assessments, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Act as a focal point for enterprise-level collaboration with cross-functional teams, government leaders, and the Prime contractor to ensure program priorities and deliverables are met.

Systems Engineering Execution:
  • Assist in managing the Sentinel program's internal deliverable review processes, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements and government documentation.
  • Evaluate and assess the Prime contractor's technical deliverables, including mechanical drawings, design analyses, and model artifacts, for quality and adherence to requirements.
  • Lead data reviews and contribute technical insight during major program milestones such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).
  • Support the development of program-critical documentation, summaries, presentations, and reports for senior-level decision-making.

Team Development & Mentorship:
  • Build and mentor a high-performance team by fostering professional growth, offering technical guidance, and promoting an innovative and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure technical readiness of team members through training on MBSE methodologies, requirements traceability, tools utilization (e.g., Cameo, DOORS), and classified environments.

Strategic Contribution:
  • Engage in strategic planning with the Sentinel Program Office to optimize systems engineering contributions and streamline acquisition processes.
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, propose mitigation approaches, and ensure readiness to meet Critical Program Information (CPI) compliance requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 14 years of directly related experience in systems engineering, including 5+ years of leadership/management experience in government or defense program acquisition or operations.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years.
  • Proficiency with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody and Requirements Management and Traceability Tools, such as DOORS.
  • Experience supporting technical milestone reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) for complex, highly regulated systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Professional Engineering License or INCOSE Systems Engineering certification.
  • Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, JIRA, Confluence, or other systems engineering and project management software tools.
