Celeris Systems is seeking an experienced and motivated Systems Engineer III to support U.S. Space Force mission systems in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Systems Engineer will support the sustainment, modernization, integration, and delivery of complex engineered solutions across hardware, software, networks, cybersecurity, and test environments. The successful candidate will work with government and contractor engineering teams to translate customer and operational requirements into effective system solutions while balancing technical performance, schedule, cost, risk, and future capability needs.
This role is well suited for a versatile engineer with demonstrated expertise in at least one engineering discipline and the ability to work effectively across multiple technical domains, legacy architectures, and mission-critical DoD systems.
Job Duties
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product and operational requirements into total system solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer and operational requirements into system hardware and software engineering specifications.
• Provide detailed technical information and recommendations for the selection of implementation techniques, tools, and solutions that efficiently meet current and future capability or capacity requirements.
• Lead and/or manage Agile or DevSecOps engineering teams and projects, including support to cost estimating, risk management, schedule development, and execution.
• Design, develop, deliver, and deploy engineered solutions in accordance with DoD lifecycle engineering processes and industry best practices.
• Support the sustainment and modernization of complex systems involving custom-developed hardware and software, COTS/GOTS hardware and software, and specialty engineering solutions.
• Support system integration, configuration management, data management, hardware and software testing and evaluation, and resolution of complex technical issues in classified environments.
• Collaborate across systems, software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, test, and operations disciplines to develop and implement effective technical solutions.
• Support modernization of legacy system-of-systems architectures, including identification and mitigation of technology obsolescence, supportability, interoperability, and integration risks.
Required Qualifications

-An active Secret clearance is required for this position. Candidates who do not currently hold an active clearance are encouraged to apply if they are otherwise qualified and eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. -Experience with a broad range of system types, including custom-developed hardware/software, COTS/GOTS hardware/software, and/or specialty engineering solutions.
-Experience with configuration and data management and hardware and software testing and evaluation of classified systems.
-Demonstrated expertise in at least one engineering field, such as software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, test, or systems engineering.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative, outcome-focused mindset.
-Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers, and program stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
-Experience sustaining UEWR, PARCS, or other radar systems such as PAVE PAWS, BMEWS, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, LRDR, Aegis, or similar systems.
-Experience in DoD systems engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), or related areas, including managing teams or projects delivering solutions for missile warning or other national security space mission systems.
-Experience working with large system-of-systems legacy architectures, upgrading or modernizing outdated technology, and/or mitigating supportability risks with creative solutions.
-Agile certification such as SAFe, Scrum, or similar.
-Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Cameo, or similar engineering and collaboration tools.
