Tecolote Research, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Cost Analysts (Mid-Senior) with strong quantitative, and analytical cost-estimating skills to support complex Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs.\\n\\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing and analyzing cost estimates for major defense programs, with an emphasis on construction, facilities, and complex weapon systems. Tecolote Research, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Cost Analysts (Mid-Senior) with strong quantitative, and analytical cost-estimating skills to support complex Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs.\\n\\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing and analyzing cost estimates for major defense programs, with an emphasis on construction, facilities, and complex weapon systems. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced cost-estimating expertise to high-visibility programs supporting critical national security missions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and validate detailed technical cost estimates for complex DoD programs, with an emphasis on construction and facilities.
- Collect, assess, normalize, and analyze cost, technical, and programmatic data from Government and industry sources.
- Develop cost-estimating methodologies, models, tools, and techniques to support program decision-making.
- Analyze historical cost data and develop estimates using appropriate statistical, parametric, and engineering-based approaches.
- Support cost and risk analyses for major acquisition programs.
- Apply knowledge of construction trades, building systems, design documentation, and related technical requirements to develop credible cost estimates.
- Collaborate with Government, industry, and internal technical teams to identify cost drivers, assumptions, risks, and uncertainties.
- Present analytical results and cost-estimating findings clearly to technical and program leadership.
Skills Required
- Minimum of six (6) years of technical cost estimating and analysis experience supporting the Air Force, Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), or a comparable DoD agency or organization.
- Experience supporting Air Force ACAT I-level acquisition programs and performing program cost analysis.
- Experience supporting ICBM programs or other DoD weapon systems. Experience with large, complex nuclear weapons systems or similarly complex Government weapon systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience collecting and normalizing cost, technical, and programmatic data from Government and industry organizations.
- Knowledge of the Defense Cost and Resource Center (DCARC) data collection process and demonstrated experience using and analyzing Contractor Cost Data Reports (CCDRs)/Cost and Software Data Reporting (CSDR) and Contract Performance Reports (CPRs).
- Knowledge and experience with cost data sources such as DACIMS and/or AFTOC.
- General understanding of construction design documents, construction trades, and building systems.
- Experience using estimating software incorporating RSMeans Construction Cost Data and other historical cost databases.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and develop cost-estimating methods, models, and tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret and/or Top Secret security clearance. Top Secret clearance preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
