Abacus Technology is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in supporting the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in supporting the Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence and Networks (C3I&N) Directorate at Hanscom AFB. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement security strategies to protect critical information systems and networks.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Monitor and analyze security events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to threats in real-time.
- Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security controls.
- Collaborate with system administrators and developers to ensure security best practices are integrated into all systems and applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on security matters.
- Stay current on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security, with a strong focus on network and system security.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
