Overview
We are seeking an experienced AV Design Engineer II to support the design, integration, installation, and sustainment of advanced Audio Visual (AV) systems within mission-critical command and control environments. This role will focus on developing and implementing video visualization solutions, display systems, signal routing infrastructure, and integrated AV technologies that support real-time operational decision-making.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AV engineering, CAD design, systems integration, and classified facility environments. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-visibility programs supporting national security missions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop AV solutions for command centers, operations centers, and other mission-critical facilities.
Review and update engineering drawing packages to meet project requirements and facility configurations.
Create and maintain AV system documentation, installation plans, test procedures, and checkout packages.
Support the integration and installation of AV equipment, displays, video walls, signal distribution systems, and associated components.
Evaluate AV technologies and recommend improvements to system performance and reliability.
Ensure AV system designs meet quality standards, customer requirements, and operational objectives.
Catalog and maintain software, firmware, and configuration documentation for installed systems.
Provide engineering oversight during implementation, testing, and system acceptance activities.
Collaborate effectively with project teams, engineers, technicians, and customer stakeholders.
Remain current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and AV best practices.
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, structural, or AV system design.
Experience producing and modifying engineering drawings using CAD software.
Knowledge of AV system architecture, signal routing, display technologies, and system integration principles.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Audio Visual Engineering and Design.
CTS or CTS-D certification from AVIXA.
Experience supporting command centers, operations centers, NOCs, SOCs, or classified facilities.
Familiarity with video walls, matrix switchers, DSPs, control systems, and signal distribution technologies.
Knowledge of AV quality assurance processes and engineering review methodologies.
Experience overseeing AV installations and system commissioning activities.
