Job Summary: Mechanical Engineer - Flight Test Instrumentation Location: Marietta, GA (On-site, Full Time) About the Role Join the industry-leading team at Lockheed Martin Aero Marietta as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Flight Test Instrumentation. This is a hands-on, on-site role driving innovation for the C-130 and advanced aircraft programs. Collaborate with top engineers and technicians to design and support critical data acquisition systems that power cutting-edge flight testing. Responsibilities - Lead mechanical design and drafting of instrumentation assemblies and components for C-130 aircraft using CATIA V5 and CADAM - Develop, document, and support installation and operation of data acquisition systems for aircraft flight testing - Integrate complex measurement devices such as strain gages, thermocouples, pressure transducers, accelerometers, and other sensors - Coordinate solutions with Electrical Instrumentation and Systems Engineers to deliver robust data acquisition products - Oversee fabrication and installation in collaboration with union-represented technicians and mechanics - Ensure all designs meet stringent aerospace standards and project requirements Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 5 years in part/assembly design and drafting with CATIA V5 - At least 5 years of experience with CADAM Computer Drafting (CCD) or equivalent 2D drafting tools - 3+ years working with flight test instrumentation (strain gages, pressure transducers, etc.) - Eligibility to obtain DoD Security Clearance at Secret level Preferred Skills - 2+ years experience with C-130 or similar aircraft structural design - Hands-on experience in a machine shop/fabrication environment - Familiarity with CAD Datanet (minimum 1 year) - Active Secret DoD Security Clearance Benefits - Work at a world-class aerospace facility with access to advanced tools and technologies - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and renowned industry experts - Career advancement opportunities in a company committed to innovation and professional growth - Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package How to Apply Ready to engineer the future of flight?
