Job Description

Serves as the senior technical authority responsible for the architecture, design, integration, deployment, and operational readiness of the Federated Search platform. Leads solution engineering and ensures delivery of a secure, scalable, cloud-native solution that integrates ATF, DOJ, and approved external data sources while supporting production deployment and Authority to Operate objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead overall solution architecture, technical design, and engineering governance.

Define the Azure architecture, integration patterns, APIs, connectors, metadata management, indexing, and search approach.

Oversee environment configuration, infrastructure deployment, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.

Direct technical teams responsible for platform implementation, integration, performance, scalability, and reliability.

Work with ATF and DOJ stakeholders to validate requirements, architecture decisions, interfaces, and technical acceptance criteria.

Collaborate with the Security Lead to embed security controls and federal requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.

Support production deployment, documentation, transition, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise applications, search platforms, knowledge management solutions, or large-scale system integrations.

Minimum 5 years serving as a Lead Architect or Technical Lead for federal IT modernization programs.

Demonstrated experience designing and deploying Microsoft Azure solutions, including cloud infrastructure, identity, networking, security, monitoring, and integration services.

Experience integrating multiple enterprise data sources through APIs, connectors, and service-oriented or event-driven architectures.

Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production release management.

Experience supporting federal security authorization and ATO activities.

Required Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or comparable role-aligned Azure certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience supporting ATF or another DOJ component.

Experience supporting DOJ Public Trust environments and DOJ security or architecture standards.

Experience supporting FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, DHS, Treasury, or another federal law enforcement organization.

Experience implementing federated search, enterprise search, knowledge management, or AI-enabled information retrieval solutions.

Experience deploying solutions in FedRAMP High-authorized environments.

TOGAF, SAFe, or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
