Job Description

Duties

  • Oversee management of taskers for the organization via the task management system (Correspondence and Task Management System).
  • Maintain internal control of staff and administrative actions throughout the organization.
  • Review policies to determine actions required and timelines for actions to be completed.
  • Improve the effectiveness of administrative work methods.
  • Conduct training with Military Community and Family Policy staff on assigned administrative programs.
  • Provide assistance to employees in preparation of payroll and time and attendance documents.
  • Conduct special assignments on complex high-priority issues.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience GS-13: One year of specialized experience which includes tracking actions within the organization's tasking system, processing time and attendance, recommending improvements to administrative work methods and procedures, applying administrative policies, and preparing periodic reports for organizational leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining the organization's tasking system, possessing a strong knowledge of workflow processes, assisting with time and attendance approval and/or guidance, improving administrative work methods and procedures, providing guidance on administrative policies, providing periodic reports to organizational leadership, and experience with a government purchase card program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement GS-13: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement GS-14: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
