Interdisciplinary - CES Recent Graduate

Duties

• As a participant in the Recent Graduates Program, you will receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop the required knowledge and skill to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Perform engineering solution analyses, by integrating dynamic, state-of-the-art queries and performance analysis techniques.
• Perform work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, networks and enhancing information systems security programs, policies, procedures and tools.
• Provide support for Predictive Engineering division, data Branch, and data validation using Microsoft Office Suite and other tool sets as needed.
• Provide data analysis using sourcing from a variety of data from a variety of tools.

Qualifications

Who May Be Considered:
Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years.

OR

Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation. Veterans have a full 2-year eligibility period to apply upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period for veterans must be within 6 years of degree completion. You MUST provide your DD-214 to support this claim.

In addition to the Eligibility, and the Basic Requirement, your resume must demonstrate the following Qualifying Experience:

Your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

• GG 09 - Qualifying Experience is defined as: Independently preparing, testing, and implementing data analyses, establishing criteria, and data to ensure all data application modules and outputs are created and tested for completeness and accuracy.
• GG 11 - Qualifying Experience is defined as: Independently conducting in-depth engineering solution analyses using state-of-the-art query and validation techniques to ensure network data accuracy and security.
• GG 12 - Qualifying Experience is defined as: Leading the design, programming, and optimization of complex automated systems while enhancing information systems security policies and procedures; and serving as a key advisor to IT staff and stakeholders on advanced data visualization, query strategies, and network performance analyses.
• GG 13 - Qualifying Experience is defined as: Serving as the principal Subject Matter Expert directing enterprise-level predictive engineering solutions and strategic data visualization operations; and formulating critical system security policies and advising senior leadership on solving unprecedented network performance and data access challenges.

*****Veterans - DD-214 are required, and will render an ineligible rating if not submitted.

*****Transcripts are required along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. The absence of this information will result in an ineligible rating.

*****Candidate must meet Recent Graduate eligibility requirement by end of the Fall 2026 Semester.

Education

• Substitution of education for experience at the 09 grade level: Completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D.
• Substitution of education for experience at the 11 grade level: Completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a directly related field.
• There is no substitution of education for experience at the GG-12, and GG-13 grade levels.

Qualifying Education Institution: Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application. .

• CES Interns are NOT eligible for conversion to a career/career-conditional appointment.
• CES Interns are eligible for non-competitive conversion to a term or permanent CES position in a CES designated organization:
• A trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
