Our client seeks a Solutions Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise architectures that support mission-critical applications and services. The role will translate business and technical requirements into scalable solution designs, establish resilient architectures across data center and cloud environments, and guide DevSecOps enablement. The architect will evaluate existing infrastructure, drive modernization, and provide technical leadership across engineering teams while supporting security and compliance objectives.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident with an active Public Trust clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $75.00 to $85.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise solution architectures that support mission-critical applications and services.
  • Translate business, functional, and technical requirements into scalable solution designs.
  • Design highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient architectures using data center and cloud best practices.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend modernization strategies.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Architect data center and cloud containerized solutions utilizing VMware VKS, RedHat OpenShift, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, and related AWS services.
  • Design and support GitLab DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD tools.
  • Optimize proposed technology solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical assessments, and design validation activities.
  • Develop technical documentation including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, design documents, and implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, developers, and infrastructure teams.
  • Support Authority to Operate efforts, continuous monitoring, and security assessments.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to estimate technical effort, identify risks, and develop implementation strategies.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.

Experience Requirements:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years performing Solutions Architecture activities.
  • 5+ years developing business, application, and technology architecture.
  • Expertise in data center technologies and cloud solutioning.
  • Cloud Operations: AWS and Azure in multi-account or subscription environments. Provisioning and managing compute, storage, networking, security, and databases. Cloud networking including VPC, firewalls, security groups, VPN, and hybrid connectivity such as Direct Connect or ExpressRoute. Cloud resource management automation.
  • DevSecOps: Experience developing with modern application frameworks. Containerizing applications. Managing GitLab pipelines. CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Writing Terraform HCL. Git version control best practices including branching, tagging, and release management.
  • Containers/Kubernetes: Deploying to AWS and Azure Kubernetes environments. Data center platforms such as VMware VKS and RedHat OpenShift. Developing Dockerfiles and Helm charts.
  • 5+ years Linux and Windows system engineering or administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineering teams and influence technical decision-making.
  • Effective oral and written communication with executives, senior staff, technical professionals, and non-technical users.
  • Security: Ability to obtain Public Trust required.
